who in their right mind would pay £500 for one of Ray Franz' books ?? i bought C of C about 8 years back--new--i think less than £10---and gave it to another member on here when i was done with it..

as for window cleaning--i speak from experience here. the reason why pioneers do it is--you can earn a weeks wages in 2 days. i did..

so we have all heard the worldwide reports about khalls being sold off and congregations being amalgamated etc.... of course, jws are being told that these actions are a sign of "just how much the work is progressing, and how jehovah is blessing the increase and expansion!".

i can share the following from my part of the world too!.

in perth, western australia the following has occurred.. three "new" congregations have been formed!

hey guys, this is my first time posting on here but lets get started.. so i'm a 17 year old boy who currently attends meetings at a congregation in indianapolis.

i live with my grandparents, on my father's side, because my mother died in 2010. i been attending meetings since i was 10. my mother got into the religion but then got disfellowshiped.

my dad is on and off, he currently just got reinstated.

hi J-Dash, its great to have you join us.....in fact we have had a number of new teenage members in recent weeks. hope fully some will respond on this thread.

come to think of it----it would be good if this site could become more user friendly for young members. you are the future, old fogeys like me are just history.

when i cleared my fathers house out i found a large cardboard box of paperwork--all sorts--of stuff from his congregation. that--and 50 years worth of magazines and books all went to the tip.

there are four ways to leave the 'truth'...... alive............you can be disfellowshiped...... then shunned, you can formally disassociate yourself and be shunned........ you can fade.

the first two words belong to the society, fade on the other hand is defined as 'to gradually grow faint and disappear.

' 'walking away' has it's own negative connotation about one's commitments and relationships.. i think some folks feel uncomfortable with these words.

i'm both curious and needing to know for purposes of editing works of american and british writers.

the biggest nonsense is where the new watchtower has been erected--warwick...pronounced in the US as WAR_WICK.

FFS its WORRICK--the county town of the county of Warwickshire--in England.. Famous for Shakespeare..and a lot older than the USA.

i live on the Isle of Wight--an island just offshore from southern England---not far from Portsmouth and Southampton. Portsmouth is known as Pompey. Sothampton is scumamton.

but i was born in Birmingham, UK pronounced burbigubb. try it--just hold your nose as you say it. also abbreviated to B'ham.
